Do you accept insurance?

We are an out of network practice (OON).  Our therapists are not considered in-network (INN) providers with any insurance carriers.   However, based on your OON plan, your insurance carrier may offer OON benefits and therefore may reimburse your sessions at some percentage.  If you would like to utilize your OON we recommend calling your insurance company, asking them about your OON benefits, and how to submit a Superbill to them and what is the rate of reimbursement for an intake session (90791) or a follow up session (90837).   Our providers are happy to provide Superbills to clients after each session.

What can I expect at the first therapy appointment?

We do what is known as an Intake and this can take 1-2 sessions.  An intake form is a comprehensive history taking questionnaire.  It allows for a framework to get to know the client and his/her history and presenting issue that is bringing them into therapy.  The therapist will also go over your confidentiality rights as a client, the nature of what to expect from sessions, and your therapist will do their best to create a warm, safe environment for you.

How often will I meet with a therapist?

This depends largely on what each person is seeking from therapy.  Some folks come in with a discreet issue or need support during a particular life event, and in those cases, therapy may last 8-10 session.   For others, they benefit from on-going support and like to have consistent touchpoints with their therapist to process what comes up in life for them.   Usually, it is helpful to meet weekly at first so both the client and therapist can get to know one another and establish a trusting, rapport.  Once a relationship is established and the client is in a positive stable place, the frequency can be elongated to bi-monthly or meeting once every three weeks.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you give twenty-four notice for a cancellation or change in appointment request.  Clients may call, text or email their therapist with the change.  If there is a last minute cancellation or no-show for an appointment, the client will be charged the hourly fee.

Can therapy help?

Therapy is a collaborative endeavor between client and therapist.   People seek out counseling support for a variety of reasons – major life changes, feeling anxious or depressed, struggling to show up in the way you used to or those who are looking to learn and grow into the best versions of themselves and secure greater peace.   Regardless of the presenting issue, therapy offers something unique – it is intentional time that is just for You to process your thoughts and feelings and share openly about your experiences and wishes.  There is freedom from needing to censor yourself or ask about others or worry about self-consciousness.  There is healing that comes from being truly seen and heard.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Yes, we offer both!  We work to make sessions work best for you and your schedule.   Many of our clients vary between in-person and video sessions depending on what is going on in their lives and you can decide what is best with your therapist.
